The story that never was…

A boy and a girl happy in their teen,
He was the king and she was his queen.

It all started with an “I like you”,
And soon the bond deepened and it was so true!

A soul connect they realised over time,
Their life was blessed and was more than fine…

A story you only read in fairy tales,
As perfect as Vodka mixed in Ginger-ale!

And then reality raised its ugly head,
Can you keep her happy is what it said?

The boy troubled with sleepless nights,
With destiny had one too many fights…

He gave it his best but the best wasn’t good,
And in front of him a grave decision stood!

He decided to let it all go,
And let life take its own flow…

The agony and the ache he hid from her,
Cause she would not understand was his only fear.

Life moved on and in a couple of years,
They both soon learnt to control their tears

He was happy cause she deserved much more,
And that is why he had to close the door.

Decades later they spoke one day,
And the boy helpless had nothing to say…

Why didn’t you let me decide? is what she spoke,

He said….

I was not thinking from my head, had lost all hope

She said –

I couldn’t let you go, I couldn’t move on
I could never start singing a new love song

Whenever I’m in bed late at nights
I remember all the love and all of the fights

I can’t let you go I can’t dry my tears,
I can’t get your voice out of my ears.

I still hold tightly within my heart
The life we dreamt of which I want to be a part

I can’t get over the fact that you once were mine,
And someday we’ll be together and then I’ll be fine.
